Planning (Need Money!)

Now that both my air flight tickets already secured, it's time to save up money and also find some part time works to generate some income. And it's also mean I need to resist the urge to buy stuffs that I want or that I like. Spending money is always easier than earning it.

Planning for the trip...Cambodia is approaching, in a year time. But it doesn't mean I can't plan where I want to go and what I want to do. This coming holidays I'm going to use it to plan for the trip, where to stay, check the budget, do the route planning, and so on. My target is to use less than RM1000 for the whole Cambodia trip. Hopefully, with good planning, will not be hard.

Next up, Macau. Which is so much longer than the Cambodia trip. Therefore, more time to plan for it. A must do in Macau is to bungee jumping. Again, hopefully, I save up enough so that I can spend without concerning too much about budget. At most, RM3000 hopefully?

After all these trips, I can declare myself bankrupt. And I still got more plans I want to execute after my last semester. But that would require financial support already. More on that later when details are more transparent.

And I have tonnes to buy also. Need money...Jobs, where are you???

Modern Family - The Best New Comedy In Town

If you have yet to watch the fantastic TV series which I think air in Astro (what channel I'm not sure), go download it and watch (for those Astro-less). Nominated for The Outstanding Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy this year, it goes against Glee, 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nurse Jackie, and The Office. For me, it's either Glee or Modern Family.

The sexy Sofia Vergara...

Expectation VS Reality

Expectation and reality is a whole different thing. What you expect may differ from what's really happening in real life. Here's what I had expected from this semester break and how I spent it in real life.

Expectation

Wake up around 7 something in the morning to go for a jog - Online for a while in the morning - Do some studies on FYPs or some light readings - Go to work - Come back after work - Sleep around 12 am

Reality

Wake up around 7 am only to fall back into sleep - Wake up again around 10 am - Watch TV - Want to online but stupid monitor on my desktop keeps blinking - Watch TV - Eat - Watch TV - Sleep around 12 am

Very unproductive the life I'm leading.

家

Already reached back home for semester break. Life will resume back its normal pace where all the fun and freedom almost completely sucked out of it. Nothing to do back home until I landed a part time. Until then, I guess better start working on my FYP by reading and reading and reading......

Exam's Over!!!

Three cheers!!! Hurray!!!

Finally, after days of rushing through notes and books for exam (I only studied when exam's coming), I can finally says goodbye to it. The freedom...which only lasts for 2 months...better than none...

Everyone will start to pack and head back hometown these few days. Just now, we just bid farewell to CF during our lunchs at McD's. See ya again in another 2 months...

Guess i better plan what to do for the sem break. Anyone can recommend a part time job for some quickie cash???

Kelly Clarkson Live In Malaysia

In about an hour plus, Kelly Clarkson will grace our Stadium Bukit Jalil for the first time after almost 8 years being in the entertainment circuit and the sad thing about it is that I can't witness her stage presence. While it's not really all I ever wanted to do, it's definitely on my high list of concerts to attend such he/she ever comes to Malaysia.

Why can't I go? Well, that stupid English exam of mine which is on tomorrow morning that I can't breakaway from. If only that paper is on the afternoon then I for sure will go for it. A moment like this is very hard to come by. Unlike Chinese singers who can have their concerts whenever, wherever in Malaysia they want, concerts from the Western singers are of extremely low rate that once they staged their concerts, the chances of seeing them again are already gone.

I'm not really a big fan of her but I do like her music. I do not hook up to her songs but whenever it's on radio, I'll always enjoy it. Never again will I get the chance of seeing her performing at Malaysia soil again.

Wonders what it's like hearing her live???

Baskin-Robbins Pink Day

Today's being Wednesday, it's Baskin-Robbins Pink Day. Show them anything pink and I can get a double jr. scoop at the price of one. And the best thing is I'll get it for free thanks to a friend of mine. Hehe.

But after searching high and low around my room, the only remotely pink wearable stuff is this tee and it's not pink to begin with but just a small part of it being in pink.

Just that small part of pinkness...

If this won't work, I guess I'll have to show them this:

My pink blanket...

Hopefully, that shirt will do...

Strange Encounter

So, here I was, walking along the pathway along the Bakti hostel, heading to class, after doing my business at Maths School, when a car slowed down and honked me. I looked at the driver and certain that I don't know that person. So, I continued walking while still staring at the car, observing what he was doing. He turned at the junction, into the Fajar hostel, and then, went extremely slow as though it wanna stop the car. I just ignored it and continued with my walk as I was about to be late.

Halfway when I was to turn to the DK, that car was back again. This time, the driver was waving his hands doing God knows what. I was getting puzzled and I have a feeling he will make a turn into that DK road. Which I was right.

That man pulled down his window and asked, " Are you from Sabah?"

I gave him what I assumed was my 'huh?' face and told him no. Then, he continued with his questions like where am I from, what course am I in, how's my family, what my father worked as, and so on. It was so strange, a complete stranger came and asked me these stuffs, which I answered out of politeness.

Then, he said he was a chemistry lecturer at the Chemistry School and I looked like one of his junior. Or something of that sort. I didn't really paid too much attention in it as I was standing under the hot sun while he was sitting inside his imported car. Then, he hold out his hand and shaked mine, saying, "Nice to meet you."

I'm like, err, oook. Then, I quickly walked to my class. When he first honked me, I looked at him and thought, is that the Maths School dean? but quickly scrapped off that idea for, why would the dean knew who I am.

Totally weird.

上了贼船

What was supposed to be a free experience turned out to be an expensive one. Yesterday, I followed my roommate, KK, and KC to Priority Fitness for the sake of touring around and playing for fun. KK哥 and KC哥 promised a free try-out but, due to many miscommunications, we ended up paying RM25 each for try-out with it being refunded back when we applied for membership within 7 days.

Which we did, this late afternoon. All in all, money was used on something I don't have plan to join. But since paid already, must optimize it to the best. We went for the class around 6.15pm which is a mix of this and that. Came out of that class totally ruined. I can feel the bile on my throat during that session. Which certified something; my fitness is of very low status.

Now, I can't get out of it without feeling guilty on the money spent. 我上了贼船!!!

Management

Time management - In great need to sharpen my skill in prioritizing which is of more important, which is of less. If not, for sure I'll suffer in the end.

Anger management - I don't believe I have problem in this department but according to my friend, I have quite a low anger management. I beg to differ. Hmm...I don't really know...

Stress management - I have very little stress, be it academically or of other stuffs. But I doubt that will be the case for the rest of my life. Therefore, I need to train myself to be more adept in stress.

People management - I need to start not to take every tasks and start to delegate some to other people. It's teamwork that creates success.

These four management skills are really important in building a good successful career, I think. Totally deviated from what I had in mind for this post.

Still Awake at this Ungodly Hour

I'm back after a week hiatus! Not a planned thing, just lack of things to write during Chinese New Year. Oh yea, Happy Chinese New Year! Gong Xi Fa Cai! We Chinese celebrated Chinese New Year for the whole 15 days, so everyday is still CNY till the last day of fifteen aka Chap Goh Meh. Anyway, enough about CNY unless you wanna give me ang pow. Then, it's CNY all year long!

Why am I still awake when at this hour, usually I'll be dozing like a pig? Well, things have been piling for way too long and my procrastination skill has been doubled during the CNY period. That week long holiday was a zero productivity rate for me. It's always the same case, keep on stalling and stalling only to have tonnes of works waiting for me. But I'm simply too used to it already.

Anyhow, I guess now I have to pay the price, exchanging beauty sleep for the completion of works. But at least, right now, there's few others joining me in burning the almost-morning oil, all sitting inside the room with air-cond blowing at us. Some can't take it anymore and dozed off while some remains working to finish the last few touches. Anytime now, it'll be done...

Home For Chinese New Year

I'm back...well, it's already a day since I came back. Nothing much changed around the house, with just some Chinese New Year decos pasted here and there. Cookies everywhere (YAY!!!!!!!) and also mandarin oranges. This CNY, I'm so gonna indulge with all these yummies......

Oh yea, just got nagged by my mom just now for not contributing anything. But I just came back yesterday and already almost all things seems to settle by now, right? And when she was nagging, I was sitting there helping her folding cloths. Talk about hormonal imbalance!

Nothing much to say liao....just some simple update....

Tomorrow only blog la...

It's just the 3rd out of 14 lectures for the whole semester, how am I gonna survive?????? To make it worst, it's one of those unavoidable core courses. If only I can drop this crap shit..........

Boredom...

So, total rambling again...

Back in USM already...with nothing better to do...facing my laptop when I (almost) finished unpacking my stuffs, reading blogs after blogs...no one to MSN with too...

Went with family shopping in Penang in the afternoon after I took my key from the hostel office...bought new shirts and jeans...had Haagen Daaz thanks to my sister who forced me into 'belanja-ing' her...

Stupid local unis...dunno why so early start sem...at least let us finish the new year celebration before dragging us back lar...not like there's a lot of classes being held in the first week itself...some of the lecturers were still on vacation...

Think most likely gonna go back once at January before the CNY break...no, for sure will go back since my mom 'insisted' already...

Wonder how to spend the New Year here........till now...

Rambling About Musical..

Warning: Pure Rambling Ahead!

"The greatest thing you'll ever learn is just to love and be loved in return."
That's the quote featured in one of my all time favourite movie, Moulin Rouge!, and as if to prove what a big fan I am, I had the original VCD and the pirated DVD bought few years back and the downloaded version in my laptop, all had been played at least once. And yesterday night, around 1+ am, out of boredom, I on my laptop and played it for, like, the umpteen time. OK, not the whole movie, just snippets of it where there's songs in it.

The beautiful love story of Christian and Satine

In case you have no idea what Moulin Rouge! is, it tells the story of a young poet/writer, Christian (Ewan McGregor), who falls in love with a Moulin Rouge cabaret actress and courtesan, Satine (Nicole Kidman). It is a beautiful movie filled with wonderful music, all of which were mash-ups of contemporary songs. The movie was the one that introduced me to the wonderful world of musical, minus those Disney's classic animations like The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, and so on which I also loved, by the way.

The main couple from Hairspray

After Moulin Rouge!, I searched high and low for musical movies and found Chicago, Rent, Across the Universe, Mamma Mia! and many more. Another musical adaptation that I loved is Hairspray. Another movie that I had watched quite a few times, it is so much fun to watch, you feels happier after watching it. But don't let those fluffy moments and the addictive songs fool you for it is a very subtle movie, one that deals with discrimination and racial segregation.

Besides the big screen, the idiot box itself also had musical in the form of Glee, one of my current favourite new TV series. It tells the story of a bunch of misfit kids in Glee Club, all working and fighting the differences between them for Sectional. It's fun, it's hilarious, and it's absolutely addictive. Oh, yea, and the songs, fantastic. I could watched over and over again. In fact, I had been watching it some so many times.

I'm officially a Gleek!

The point is, inside my external, there are TONNES of movies and series remained untouched, yet, I kept watching those favourites of mine. Is it the familiarities of the movies that kept me watching them? I mean, I almost had the lines from Moulin Rouge! imprinted in my mind. Or is it just that I simply enjoy it too much that I won't even get sick of it? Don't care. I just keep watching it whenever, wherever I want.

When I get to go New York, I won't miss the chance of going to watch at least one musical at Broadway. I still remembered that there's the staging of Beauty and the Beast the musical early back this year (is it?) in KL but did not go for it. Singapore seems to be the love of musical productions with Mamma Mia! and Phantom of the Opera being staged few years back. Let's hope that more and more musicals would come to our shores.

I'm Officially A Free Man!

Finally, the wait is over! Holiday has begun! With the last of the last paper for me is behind me, I'm now free to enjoy myself without any restraints (not that these last few days were any less enjoyable what with the trip and all...). Gonna pack up the remaining stuffs resting in my hostel room later before going out to explore sides of Penang that I've yet to visit later in the afternoon with my coursemates. Then, at night, the five of us gonna take a bus ride to Segamat, Johor and have a blast! After Johor, I'm gonna visit Seremban and enjoys myself for few days before heading back to my hometown. Hopefully, I can land myself some works to sustain my spendings. Therefore, at least for the upcoming days, my blog will be rather lifeless. But don't la desert it. Come by and conteng my chatbox or leave comments. Haha.

So, see ya later!
