363 Makes English Such A Foreign Thing
In just 2 more days, I'll be facing my first paper, the deadliest of them all since I barely knew him. Facing him for a semester and I can't even call him my acquaintance. Why, oh why, do I have to be a buddy with you? I don't even understand the things you said. Mathematical you may be, but surely nothing mathematical about you since there's barely numbers. All signs and symbols. English never seems more foreign to me than now. If only life were just about watching TVs and movies...

Study Study Study
With the end of the semester comes the dreadful study week, where we were supposed to study but mostly ended up having fun, and the horrible exam weeks, where we will be sitting in a cold room for 2/3 hours each round just to prove that we did not study anything at all during the whole semester. It's the cycle of life, at the university life.
Now that I had FINALLY finalized that extremely stupid first report, it's time to focus on the studies. I'm gonna jam my one study week with the whole core courses that I took, making sure that what I'm supposed to know for the semester, I will know it by the end of the week.
I'm rambling.

The Road Not Taken
The Road Not Taken
Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;

We studied this poem back when we were Form Four, if I remembered correctly. It's about the personal choices that we made in our lives and whether we will end up in regret of the decisions we made.
Choices and decisions. It's a very scary thing, knowing that different choices you made today will have different impacts in your life and if you made the wrong choice, then, you have no choice but to stay on board until you reach another stage of your life where you can make another decision.
I'm actually quite scared of my future. All I see in front of me is nothing but complete blur, a rather bleak vision. I have plans but I'm not too sure of which paths to choose and also how my plans will be released into reality instead of being just that, plans.
Is this the feeling of being in the final year of study???

Want + Need
What is a want?
What is a need?
When does a need turns into a want?
When does a want becomes a need?

To Be John Nash Or Not To Be
Last night, I watched the Oscars-winning movie, A Beautiful Mind, a biopic of American mathematician, John Nash, starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly (winner of Best Supporting Actress for her role here). It focused on his life and how he struggled with paranoid schizophrenia, a mental illness.
For those who don't know who is John Nash, he is the Noble prize winner for his works in developing game theory. Game theory is a branch of applied mathematics that is widely used in the social sciences, economics, evolutionary biology, and so on. It even can be applied into our daily lives. In fact, game theory will be incorporated into my final year project.
The movie was rather entertaining as it showed how he came up with the theory, how his delusions ended up ruining his career, and how he overcame his mental illness and got back into the limelight. But, as movie tends to dramatise a lot, it's hard to know whether everything that's in the movie is true or not. So, I Wiki-ed it (whenever in doubt, go Wiki it) and it appeared that he really did suffer from schizophrenia.
One interesting fact is that the movie depicted him as a mathematical genius but with social disadvantages, as in he's not people-person. How true is it I do not know but a lot of geniuses are of such disabilities. I mean, the minds of the geniuses are too complicated that they sometimes find it hard to mix with ordinary peoples. Therefore, being genius is not really all shiny thing.
Take John Nash for example. He's amazing, being able to generate such theory with his mind but, if based solely on the movie, he's a socially awkward person. He doesn't understand the necessity of social conducts. And in his later life, he started to have delusions that he was part of a secret mission and that there's people out there trying to kill him. Being a genius is a hard thing.
If we were given a choice before we were born, would you choose to be born as a genius whose life works will win you all the prizes in the world and greatly influence the world but with a poor understanding of social conducts? Or who you rather be born as an ordinary person who does not have any impact on the world but can mingles with people? I would rather be just a normal person for being a genius comes with a lot of baggages. How about you?

And Now, It's The End of Lesson
And like that, today's morning lecture was the last for this semester. Study week will officially begin tomorrow and after the one week off, we will be facing final like previous semesters. After all the tests are over, some will be doing internships while some will be working as research assistants. Some will be busy with tournaments while some will be hunting for part time jobs to earn some extra pocket money. Some will laze around at home, enjoying the comfort and joys of being surrounded with families and close friends. Some will be using the long holidays traveling here and there, searching for new adventures and experiences. Some might do soul searching or some might be using the break to study, preparing for the upcoming semester.
There's infinite plans on how to spend the upcoming holidays yet at this precise moments, nothing seems to be popping in my head. Maybe I'm waiting for the right inspiration to hit me on what should I be doing with the coming holidays. Should I join the bandwagon and accept that allowance-less internship? Should I be hunting for some part-time job to pass the time? Should I just strap myself with a few luggages and embark to a new place, a new surrounding? Or should I just eat, sleep, eat, sleep back at home until next semester begin?
There's still time for me to decide on what should I be doing for the semester break. Maybe I should just stick with the current plan, as in enjoys every single present moment. Sometimes, life's too short to plan ahead in time. Who knows, I might *touch wood* die before the holidays even begin. Hehe.
My head is getting real dizzy already. I should get some sleep now since I already done and passed up that assignment already. Night, people!

Things Remained Undone But Required To Be Done
I spent all night and part of the morning in the Maths Room, doing works and discussion on the last two upcoming events of Maths Society while crapping at the same time with my two fellow Excos. I came to a realization from that all-nighter, what a deep shit hole we're in. Major shit that needed to scoop it out of our doorstep - money. Money is honestly the devil to the whole thing. While the saying 'Money is not everything' is true, so does its following phrase, 'But everything is money.' Printing needs money, organizing event needs money, payment on the hotel needs money, everything shit thing needs money. Even the performances also need money. Sponsorship, while it's not too little, it could still do better. Every devil spawns need freaking thing called money.
Then, the people themselves. One of the events require a major push-up to make sure it runs smoothly. The committee members seems like a bunch of non-functioning machines, providing nothing much to the event. Unwillingness to sacrifice is one of the major problem. Commitment issue.
The 'know nothing' policy seems to be implemented throughout the whole activities. Little information were shared among us Excos to the point that we can say something of this sort, "Hey, is that supposed to be in it?". Blurness to the highest level.
Time itself is also another f**ked up matter. Everything have to be done before Chinese New Year 'cause once the break is over, all hell gonna breaks loose. Both the events came one after the other, with a one week gap between them. And still, barely everything is settled and finalized. Too many holes still need stitchings and mendings to make a perfect shirt. Even if it's not perfect also must be presentable. The more closer it gets, the more bleak I'll be, something I'm not really famous for.
And all these are just events-related. There's a lot studies that require to be done. While I never claim to be those whose eyes solely focus on books, it's seems to be quite a while since I truly touch a book. Even the test last Thursday night, all the studies were done on the afternoon itself.
But studies never really the main focus since I can quite catch up rather well. Not to brag here. And something's need to be done regarding our final year project. Mastering the basic and stuffs. Oh yea, internship too. Shit, application letter and resume still remain blank pages.
Amidst all the workloads that keep piling up, tensions arise between friendship. The ties might cut off without knowing how or why. Long-lasting friendship is very hard to find and maintain. All the friends I made in my university years I intended to keep for the rest of my life, however fews they are. Therefore, I always walk a careful pathway, applying the 'kaokei' (anything) policy so that I won't easily offended anyone or being offended by anyone. I know that I'm quite vengeful in a way. I can remember who wrong me for long time. The forgive-but-not-forget. So, being 'kaokei' helps a lot in lowering the names in my list. Not like there's one to begin with.
How I wish I could just slip off doing nothing, knowing nothing. Being a problem-free person people often associated me with. Somehow, what I intended to blog today ended up differently from what I had in mind.

The Young and Old Befuddlement
Somehow, it's been implemented inside every one of us that when there's a conflict between the young and the old, mostly the young will ends up apologizing. It doesn't really matter who's right or who's wrong. How accurate is this statement, I don't really know, but, I think, sometimes, I'm like that.
What triggers this thought? Well, this morning, I was heading to the Language Centre for my 4 hours of language classes, 2 hours for Chinese, 2 for Spanish. Most of the students were just finished their classes as I was heading to mine. There are two flights of stairs for us to climb to reach a floor and the stairs can only fit in two peoples walking side by side, with just some space between them and the wall.
So, as I was climbing up those stairs and almost reaching the end of the flight when there's two female lecturers, I presume, began to descend that flight of stairs that, just two more steps would end my climbs. They were chatting and laughing to themselves, oblivious of my presence, while I was standing still, deciding what to do. With two of them standing side by side, they already took up 90% of the space.
I thought, maybe I could just squeeze through them and go on to my class. So, I walked on and ended up brushing the shoulder of the one standing closest to me. Suddenly, her conversation was stopped and she looked at me and gave me a "Hey!" as if I had molested her or something and stupid me, standing there, apologizing for something that's so not my fault. When that "Sorry!" came out of my mouth, I continued with my journey to my class.
Honestly, what was she expect me to do, jump back down and let Your Highness descend the great stairs? You're the one who should be letting me finished my flight before going down if you were to brace each other elbows and walking side by side. Inconsiderate aunties.
Another random post. So uninspired these few days.

The Prosperity Burger Hypothesis
Ever wonders what so great about McDonald's Prosperity Burger? I mean, what so great about it that we can't have it for the entire whole year and not just the during the Chinese New Year? Not like that we are heading to the road of fortune with every bite we took. In fact, should anyone who ever get prosper, it's the CEO of McDonald's. Me and my roommate were eating the Prosperity Burger when he said something about them getting prosper and not us. Then, my mind starts to swirl around and around, filled with thoughts.
So, here's my theory on the Prosperity Burger:
Point 1
Imagine that Prosperity Burger were made available for the whole year long. With the new marketing plan, the name 'Prosperity Burger' no longer appropriate 'cause it can't possible be prosper for the whole year right? When it's on the month of Chinese New Year, it works its magic well, but definitely not the whole year. Then, possible new name? Black Pepper Burger. When the novelty of it was lose, then sales of it would decrease.
Point 2
Then, with the all year round thing, they can't charge high like what they did now. I mean, RM 11.80 for the whole set? Way too expensive. So, new price is set which should be less than RM10, like the rest of the McValue Meals. Less profit earned. But with new and lower price surely means more customers, right? Possibly, but not necessary. Refer to Point 1.
Point 3
And that Twisted Fries that comes along with it? You go to Tesco or Giant and you can buy a pack of it with the money they charged us for that size. It might work for Prosperity Burger but definitely not for Black Pepper Burger.
Conclusion
The whole thing about Prosperity Burgers being made available for a certain period of time is a business gimmick created to trick people into buying it. People have the tendency to buy items that are of limited edition or collector's item even there's no practical use to it. With such idea in mind, McD exploits the very weak spot of humans and starts pilling up profits. In the end, it's prosperity for them, poverty - both in financial and health matters - for us.
I rest my case.

Mat Rempit
According to Wikipedia, mat rempit is a Malaysian term for 'an individual who participates in illegal street racing'. They're the one who perform those stupid and dangerous stunts with their beloved motorbikes and the source of the 'vroom vroom' noises. Usually, they often come in abundances, conquering the side roads, vroom-ing, while waiting for the right moment to just blast off on the street late at night.
Yesterday night, or more accurately, this morning, somewhere around 2 am, after our yum cha session, me and my friends were heading back to our hostels, planning to have some good night sleep. As we were heading to the RST gate at Gambir Road, the unmistakeably 'vroom vroom' sound and the huge cluster of human beings gathered at the junction signified the beginning of their night activities. We tried to cross the junction but there's a gang blocking the junction. The presence of the traffic light at the junction served no purposes as even it's green on our sides, there's still those idiotic mat rempit vroom-ing past us. In the end, we decided to U-turn back and went to crash at our friend's house around the area.
All of us were wondering the same question: Where's the heck are the police forces? We paid our taxes to the government which in turn become their salaries, so, technically, we paid their salaries. OK, so it's our parents who paid their salaries but...you get what I mean. It's ain't the first time they have such illegal racing along that road. Many times had we seen such activities, especially Saturday's nights.
Another thing I don't understand is, how can the mat rempits can be so irresponsible? They risked their lives for what, a second of thrill? Do they ever think about their families who were most probably worried sick for their safety???
While searching through Wikipedia, I came across this:
How accurate that piece of article, I have no idea but the notions of building a circuit for this purposes is like telling them, "Hey, mat rempit, keep up with your good works and to reward you, here's your own circuit. You can now die in this track specially built for you."
Malaysia is going downhill, I have a feeling. Maybe it's time to migrate...
p/s Don't bother trying to call the polices. They just hang up your calls. This comes from experience.

Kelantan to build track for Mat Rempit
Kosmo! reported that Mat Rempit in the state of Kelantan will be allowed to show off their skills at a special track to be built by the state government soon. The government of Kelantan Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said the track in Tanah Merah was not a waste of money. “ They (Mat Rempit) always make their mothers and wives worry. With the track they will have a proper place to express their feelings and show their bravery and heroics ”

Handphone-less
I was given a link to a post written by someone quite important in USM (who, I don't know wo...). Here's the extract of the post:
The idea of getting rid of telco towers in campus is super stupid. Imagine bot being able to call and talk with your families and loved ones while inside the campus or can't received their calls when there's something bad happened in the family. Or there's an accident inside campus but you can't call 999. Troublesome thing it'll be when there's no phone connection.
The thing about upgrading the WiFi service is pure bullshit. There's a limitation in our connection. No matter how great you upgrade the WiFi, there's still the chances of not able to access it. And WiFi is not phone as not everyone owns a laptop and not everyone knows how to use Internet. My parents surely don't know how.
There's a risk in everything we do. There's the possibilities of getting in an accident when you're in a car. Does that means you're not driving? Eating might leads to food poisoning, so, you're not eating?
I don't know. Maybe I'm too used of having handphone on my pocket, ready for action when needed to. However rare I used it, I still have it by my side. I guess it's the 21th century effect. What do you think?
Kampus Sejahtera gets roped in for many things, many of which I have no resource to follow up - so, I say no.
This one, I think I can't squirm my way out. My wife told me yesterday that I used only about RM4-RM5 worth of calls on my mobile but pay RM30 per month for the service. "Happily" my children now get to enjoy my unused credits because "we are family". Should we be happy? Probably not, since it means my children will be getting more radiation from the handphones. Well, actually, they are not using more but we will be paying less because of the package. But that's not the point of this post. The point is : do you know enough about the hazards of handphone usage? And what should you or can you do about it?
Now, think, can you imagine not being about to get a good reception for your handphone while on campus. I can remember the good old days when these strange people will be walking aimlessly around the room, pointing their "remote-control" (handphone lah) in various directions trying to catch the signal. "Try near the window", someone will helpfully advise. Well, those days could be back soon on campus.
I can tell you that the decision has been made to eventually phase out the telco towers on campus. Is the decision final? Can you still influence and reverse that decision? Do you know enough to support or oppose the decision?
I have asked a few students, and almost all say its a stupid idea (to shutdown the telco towers). My three children (and I think wife) share similar sentiments. Others however think that if there are viable alternatives, like superfast WIFI and landlines, they can live without the handphones.
So, what's the problem with the handphones? Radiation coming directly from your handset when you are talking on the phone - right into your brain. Any proof? Well, I have asked my son to do some detective work (he's studying to be a telco engineer; maybe). Also, there's talk about lowering sperm count. If you have some concrete proof, send them to me.

So Far...
It's already Friday night and few more hours later, it's Saturday. How times really pass by when you're having a good time but when you do have a moment to sit still and think about what you have done so far, you'll begin to worry (or not) about the impending loads of works.
As usual, whenever I'm back for holidays, I have a tendency to tag along some notes or study materials so that I can do some brushing up, and as usual, all these study materials ended up getting covered with dust by the end of the holidays as I just simply chunked it in some secluded corner and totally forgotten about it until I start to pack for my return back. The week's almost end and yet I have to begin doing any studies or even bother with my assignment which possibly due next coming Monday.
Honestly, I've been having too much fun for this Raya break, what with my coursemates' visit, gatherings and hang outs I've been attending to. It's a joy, being able to be the host to my friends and bringing them to witness the beauty of my hometowns. It's full of fun, getting to meet back some of my friends which have been ages since we last seen each others. It's lung-tiring, going for karaoke for two days straight in a row. It's fulfilling of sort, getting to drive after months of not touching the steering wheel. But, the best part of all is the joy mingled with slight hatred, laughters mix with annoyed feeling I get whenever I was bugged, disturbed, entertained, asked, nagged, and all sort of things your siblings would do to you.
Coming back home, I get to bond with my sisters and parents and family relatives, especially my little sister. This few years must be treasured deeply before she leaves the innocent stage and enters the rebellious phrase of teenage which my other sister had gone through (and it's horrible XD).
Anyhow, nothing much to talk about, I think. Just a brief update of my holidays. Going back USM this coming Sunday (really, how time flies...).

EWWWW...
While I was brushing my teeth, a fellow resident of my hostel came out from his shower (I presume...), holding a pair of drenched boxer (maybe he was washing it while showering?). He went to the sink next to me and continued washing his boxer.
Then, to my horror, he later used the wet boxer to wipe his face, using it as a face napkin to clean his face. I'm like, WTF!, when I saw that. Of course, my face remained neutral, hiding my shocked look. Duwan create any problem.
While I'm not sure how clean is his boxer, it's still unhygienic to use it to wipe your face. It's just...so unbelieveable!

*Going back home in less than 11 hours...yay!!!*

USM Exchange Programme
Last Wednesday, I went for a gathering of sort organized by the USM International Office regarding the Exchange Programme made available for USM students. It's a programme ran by an agreement between USM and the partner universities where USM will send and receive students for the duration of one to two semesters per exchange. The students will be enrolled in an overseas partner university, taking courses and sitting for exams with regularly enrolled students, meaning, it's just like any other semester except for the fact that you're in a foreign university.
Besides, the great thing about this programme, for me at least, is that I would only have to pay the normal USM tuition fee, which is only about RM600+, and not the host university's tuition fee, should I join the programme. Of course, it does not include all the expenditures I'm gonna spend on when I'm there like foods, accommodation, and so on but according to the data provided by the International Office, the average expenditure is roughly between RM15k to RM35k.

Honestly, I'm tempted to join the programme mainly because I want to experience the world. I really don't want to be trapped inside Malaysia for the rest of my life. Not that I'm saying Malaysia ain't great (it's your own opinion...) but I really want to see the world, to be as far away from here as I can. I wanna feel the four season for myself, visit the famous places through my own eyes and not other medium.
Of course, there's always a down side to everything. The only setback for me is that I have to extend my study year for another year to do my final year project. It means that I have to see my fellow friends and coursemates graduated a year earlier than me. It also means that I have to do my last year alone since none of my coursemates are interested in it (there's one but I'm not sure of her decision yet...).
I'm not really discouraged by it. I don't really mind extending another year but I kinda already plan to do my master overseas. The main reason to do master overseas is almost the same as joining the exchange programme. Since I'm already set my mind to it, why would I want to do this programme anyway? Some more, I have yet to discuss it with my parents. Hmm, don't think they will against it gua. Just the financial matter that worries me if I were to join it.
OK, let's just assume I took part in the programme and was selected (there's a selection, by the way). Of all the countries offered, I would choose either Canada, US, Australia or Singapore, Singapore being the lowest rank among the four. I choose these countries mainly for one reason, it's English speaking countries. I can't choose Japan or Korea since I don't know their languages and it's hard to survive if you can't communicate with the locals. Dah lah my English not that strong, some more want me to speak Japanese/Korean? At least with Canada, US and Australia, I can cut off the language barrier. But I need to take IELTS/TOEFL should I applied for universities from these countries as they don't accept MUET. Stupid MUET, wonders why we have to take it? Why can't they just integrated IELTS/TOEFL into our educational system?
I most likely would not take up courses that have anything related to what I'm studying at all when I'm there. Most likely I'm gonna take English or creative writing or something I wanted to do for fun.
Don't think too far first. Consult with my parents first.

MERDEKA!!!
In less than 20 minutes away, the day our Father of Independence, Tunku Abdul Rahman, shouted 'Merdeka!' in his prideful voice for seven glorious times is about to end. Indeed, time does pass by rather fast without much noticing of it slipping away. Already we had enjoyed 52 years of peace and prosperity our ancestors had slaved and fought for and as the new generation of Malaysians, we should preserve our independence and prevail all obstacles to ensure the future generations, our sons and daughters, our grandsons and granddaughters and so on can enjoy the privileges we had.
Our country had went through quite a little change of prime ministers, I believe, compared to other countries of our ages. From the Founding Father, Tunku Abdul Rahman, to the latest Prime Minister, Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, each had brought in their contributions to the country. Our second Prime Minister, Tun Abdul Razak, executed his many plans to develop Malaysia into a better country, hence, the title Father of Development. He was succeeded by Tun Hussein Onn, his brother in law. Tun Hussein Onn was granted the soubriquet Father of Unity for his sincere fights against racial barriers. He was renowned for stressing unity in his policies aimed at rectifying the economic imbalances between the communities. Our fourth Prime Minister, Tun Mahathir Mohamad, was our longest-serving Prime Minister, leading Malaysia to great distances for 22 years. Tun Abdullah Badawi took over the office from Tun Mahathir Mohamad for 5 years before the power had shifted to Dato' Seri Najib Tun Razak, son of our second Prime Minister.
Of the six Prime Ministers, the one that I most admired is Tun Mahathir Mohamad, the fourth Prime Minister. Maybe because he was the main political figure when I was in my early teen, I was often drawn to his charisma and daring-ness to speak his mind even though it would not be what people wants to hear. He was revered by a lot of people for his all the visions he had for the country, executed the plans for KLIA, Sepang F1, and others. When he announced his plan to retire in the UMNO assembly, tears were seen from his supporters. He is truly a well-respected leader who brought Malaysia to a whole new level.
How is Malaysia going to fare in years to come is yet to know as it depends heavily on our current Prime Minister and we are still getting to know him better, or so to speak but I hope that he, like his father and all the previous leaders, will steer our beloved country to a brighter future. Happy (Belated*) Independence Day!
*it's already way passed 12am by the time I finished and posted it. XD

Up Is a Must Watch Movie
So, after about 3 hours from the previous post, I went to Gurney Plaza with Pui Yee to watch Up. We have to wait for about an hour or so at the bus stop waiting for the only direct public bus to Gurney as we don't want to change bus and another hour plus inside the bus before reaching the final destination. I took the opportunity inside the bus to take a short nap to rejuvenate myself. If not I might fall asleep in the movie.

OK, about the movie. It is yet another brilliant product from Pixar as always. Quite a number of friends of mine said that the idea of a house being tied up with balloons and flies is not appealing. Another even said that the poster is not captivating enough. These people are really shallow as they judge things by its covers (you know who you are...XD). Up, like every other previous Pixar movies, is a heart-warming and touching film that put priority on the storyline and not star powers. It managed to blend comedy, action, adventure, drama, tragedy, and family perfectly and turned it into another gem. Highly recommended. Even its short film accompanied with the movie, Partly Cloudy, is a funny and loving take on baby making and friendship.
After the movie, we went to Manhattan Fish Market for lunch. I had Grilled Flaming Platter for One or something. It was delicious. Then, I bought a new shoes, New Balance. There are two colors for the same style the shoes that I bought but of different prices. The one that I initially like was RM 169.00 while the one that I bought, which I also like, was RM 99.00. Both was of same style and it's already best price. I'm no rich man son, so, of course I bought the cheaper one la.
On the ride back, I fell asleep yet again. Well, an hour of nap is better than nothing.

Rain, Rain, Go AWAY!
Honestly, since I came back to USM last Sunday ago, the weather was simply unpredictable. It had almost rained for a week, with the exception of last Tuesday and even it was cloudy-with-high-percentage-of-raining kind of sky. And today it had rained non stop since yesterday afternoon and it had disrupted my plan I had for the day.
Swimming during raining season is so cold as I had learned during my swimming lesson. The water is so unforgivingly cold when I went into the pool. Next week if it rain, I'm so gonna skip the lesson.

A lot of stuffs can't be done when rain such as drying your cloths under the lovely sun, walking around without the trouble of holding an umbrella, jogging, etc. I suddenly remembered a song from the educational show, Barney and Friends, something along the line 'mister sun, sun, mister golden sun, please come out and play...'. Watching too much of these stupid show with my little sister filled my mind with these stuffs.
'Ooooh, Who live in the pineapple under the sea?'

Shit Hole I'm In...
OK, just came back from an interview for the DT coordinator position on AIESEC. And I'm praying freaking hard that I won't get the position. Lady Luck, please bless me on this one!
If you are wondering why I would apply for it in the first place when I don't even want it, well, I have no freaking idea. Honestly, the reason I sent my application was just to tryout the interview, AIESEC-style. I have no intention of landing the job seeing that I basically have no whatsoever experience needed for it. The way I see it is that this could be my opportunity to train my leadership skill that is much needed in the working world if I got it. Even if I don't get it, I won't miss a thing since I already accepted another AIESEC position, the Director of Marketing for the Festival of Nation. The funny thing is, again, I got zero experience in marketing and I'm appointed as the director for the project.
The day before the interview, I was told that the post I'm applying, that DT stuff, there's only another applicant besides me and she is has a lot of experience in it. So, I thought, hmm, less than 50%, much better! I just go for fun then.
So, what set off my determination of not getting the post? When they ask me how I would delegate my time to handle all the stuffs I have and how much time I would allocate for the DT and the Festival of Nation and what's my plan to make the program that I will be handling should I elected the DT coordinator, SAVE, a success...all these technical stuffs they bombarded me with make me realise, heck, I don't want it anymore. I really do enjoys the amount of free time I had and they had made it clear that this post will be stressful and demanding. But I can't really say it during the interview and when I was told that should I elected, I can't really quit halfway, I was in deep shit!
During my interview, from the words that came out from my mouth, it was so obvious that I was unprepared. I basically just uttered whatever logical stuffs that I can think of. Even I have limited knowledge on SAVE. Surely they won't depend the success of the program on such a reckless and inexperienced person. Right? Even that less than 50% statement sounds intimidating to me. Only 0% would be comforting.
The result for the post will be emailed it to us this Thursday. I really freaking hope that the name attached on that email will not be me.........

Cancer
I was just told by my mother this morning that my uncle had lung cancer and it's in the final stage. As some of you might know that I have too many uncles, he is my father's older sister's husband. It was a rather shocking news as he is, as I know, a healthy man. The only thing that popped out in my mind when I first heard of it is cigarette. He is quite a smoker. I guess for him, it's a way to destress after a day's work. According to doctor, he got around 3 to 6 months left.
I still have yet to visit him as my mom wants to wait for my father's return from work this Friday before we go to the hospital what with the H1N1 epidemic crisis and all. I do believe in miracle and that my uncle could fight the disease. Hopefully, his family will have the strength to overcome this horror.
Cigarette is something I would not touch for the rest of my life. You may think it's cool to have it hanging at your lips, smokes puffing out of your mouths but once you hit the jackpot, you would not think so. I would not trade my life for such coolness. Cigarettes are really cancer sticks in disguise, people! Wake up and stop throwing your lives away for it! Think of your loved ones before you lights up!

I'm Home!
Like I had said earlier, I was heading to KL on the 15th August. Well, we took the midnight bus to KL, thinking that we will reach around 5am, which is usually the time we supposed to reach, and rot at Pudu Terminal for about an hour before going to UTAR, but the bus driver sped like hell and we reached at 4am, giving us 2 hours of rotting. It was plain torture sitting at terminal waiting for time to pass by. Honestly, KL at night is a totally different place than KL in the morning. I'll talk about it if I remembered. Then, by around 6am, we began our journey to UTAR where the Maths Competition will be held. It took about an hour with the switching of public transports and all.
Cut all the boring crap and move to the competition. OK, I totally sucked in it. Screwed upside down with the tests. It made me feel that I did not study at all during the last two semesters. I forgot almost all the stuffs being taught last year. Ended up winning nothing, not like I'm expecting anything.
After the competition, supposed to look for someone in KL but since he's not really free and my freaking bag is bloody heavy, I changed my plan and headed back home. And the freaking thing happened. The bus that I took going back Ipoh broke down halfway along the ride. It was totally unbelieveable. Me and my friends which all of us were heading to the same place had to hitchhiked other bus to go back home. What a day! But at least I did reached back home safely and get to sleep in my own room.
OK, I basically wrote like a idiot here. Well, I'm really sleepy, therefore, the choppy blog. Sleep le. Night!
