Resurfaced

Come to think of it, it's been more than a month of disappearing act of me from this blog. Besides the lack of time to leave any updates on it, I was pretty lazy and unmotivated to do the writings. But, anyhow, just to give some forms of life in this blog, I just wanna leave a brief update.

Holidays had ended without much had happened. Just like that. I was thinking, what the hell did I do during the semester break??? It's like a flick of the eyes and poof, holidays vanished in thin air.

With the end of the holidays come the beginning of the new and last semester of my university life. The prospect of entering the working world once I graduated is as much as exciting as it is scary. Not that it is pretty much a done deal in term of getting a job. I might want to continue with my studies. The path of my future is still vague.

Last semester means last time where all of us will be having fun together considering the fact that most of you will return back to your own home town after graduation. Therefore, we must make sure that this last semester must be fully enjoyed to the max!

I guess this is where I'll stop for the moment.

363 Makes English Such A Foreign Thing

In just 2 more days, I'll be facing my first paper, the deadliest of them all since I barely knew him. Facing him for a semester and I can't even call him my acquaintance. Why, oh why, do I have to be a buddy with you? I don't even understand the things you said. Mathematical you may be, but surely nothing mathematical about you since there's barely numbers. All signs and symbols. English never seems more foreign to me than now. If only life were just about watching TVs and movies...

That Little Wine Bar

...costs us almost RM180 in total. And there's no wine involved too. But, it's expected since you have to pay for the ambiance too and without a doubt, it's very relaxing and soothing to be there.

What exactly did we do that we have to pay that much of money? Well, just eat. Haha. So, this was what we had.

Introducing the main courses from clockwise, top left...
Duck Breast a l'orange
Mushroom Quiche, my favourite of all the courses...
Red Snapper, what I ordered
The Chicken Panini

For desserts, we have...

New York Cheesecake
Warm Apple Filo Pillow

Overall, the foods are quite nice, though the Red Snapper is on the bottom among the four. That fish dish is not really good and apparently not fresh too, according to the 'critics'. I really liked the mushroom quiche the most. Its cheesy flavor mixed well with the pastry and the mushroom complemented it well.

For the desserts, nothing to shout about though I quite like the New York Cheesecake. Maybe it's because I really do like New York Cheesecake. Must go New York to try it first. Haha.

The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. It's definitely very Westernized.

The wine collection...
Few Snapshots of the restaurant...

Owned by a European couple (assumed), they were friendly and nice to talk to. Definitely a place worth revisiting, when I had the money.

Study Study Study

With the end of the semester comes the dreadful study week, where we were supposed to study but mostly ended up having fun, and the horrible exam weeks, where we will be sitting in a cold room for 2/3 hours each round just to prove that we did not study anything at all during the whole semester. It's the cycle of life, at the university life.

Now that I had FINALLY finalized that extremely stupid first report, it's time to focus on the studies. I'm gonna jam my one study week with the whole core courses that I took, making sure that what I'm supposed to know for the semester, I will know it by the end of the week.

I'm rambling.

This is how I feel right now...

The Road Not Taken

The Road Not Taken

Two roads diverged in a yellow wood,
And sorry I could not travel both
And be one traveler, long I stood
And looked down one as far as I could
To where it bent in the undergrowth;
Then took the other, as just as fair,
And having perhaps the better claim,
Because it was grassy and wanted wear;
Though as for that the passing there
Had worn them really about the same,
And both that morning equally lay
In leaves no step had trodden black.
Oh, I kept the first for another day!
Yet knowing how way leads on to way,
I doubted if I should ever come back.
I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

We studied this poem back when we were Form Four, if I remembered correctly. It's about the personal choices that we made in our lives and whether we will end up in regret of the decisions we made.

Choices and decisions. It's a very scary thing, knowing that different choices you made today will have different impacts in your life and if you made the wrong choice, then, you have no choice but to stay on board until you reach another stage of your life where you can make another decision.

I'm actually quite scared of my future. All I see in front of me is nothing but complete blur, a rather bleak vision. I have plans but I'm not too sure of which paths to choose and also how my plans will be released into reality instead of being just that, plans.

Is this the feeling of being in the final year of study???

If you are wondering where to find used cars for sale in the Internet that is reliable and have a good selection, search no further because there exists a new website that caters to your need and it is called CarSifu. Basically, this website is like a Malaysian car classifieds where those who have an account can post their cars that they want to sell it off. And the best part of it is that it is a free registration.

You can negotiate the price with the owners and look at the cars first hands. For the sellers out there, you can used this website to sell your cars.

The selections of cars are amazingly wide. From the locally produced cars such as Proton to foreign cars such as Honda, Ford, Audi, and many more, you can find all kind of cars here. This website is easy to use and very user friendly.

Find Homestays in KL

Hey!!! I'm back!!!

After almost a month of hiatus, I'm finally back in the blogosphere. The hiatus is mostly due to pretty unexciting life I'm leading and also the fact that I am very uninspired. Anyhow, I better get to the point of this post.

Today's post is to introduce fellow bloggers and also people on the world the wonders of a website that enables you guys to find KL homestays and also in other parts of Malaysia. It is a very good website where you can hunt for places to stay when in KL or other part of Malaysia especially if you are foreigners or that you do not have any friends and relatives to crash into. All the rooms for rental are mostly for short term only.

One of the most common traits among the homestays uploaded in the website is that all the places are located in the residential areas. It can be very calm and peaceful and that it will be less noisy and suitable for a good rest after a hectic day.

There is another side to the website and it is cater to people who are looking for a room to rent for a period of time. This website will the most suitable one for you if you are looking for places to rent. There are many rooms available for you guys to rent and more is still to come. The price range is very wide, making sure that all people of different financial budget can benefit from the website.

If you are looking for people to rent your extra empty room, well, you can upload your classified ads into the website for others to look at. You can write down your criteria to make sure not to waste other people's time. All you have to do is just to sign up for a free membership. So, hurry up and make use of the website!

*This is a community service to all the people out there who are looking for places to rent and stay.*

Holidays!!!

It's been a while since my last update. Almost 2 weeks plus had passed since Merdeka. Well, blame it on the lack of inspiration. Or maybe it's my lazy bone kicking in. Somehow, I just don't feel like writing anything on my blog without really having anything to say. Not that I have anything to say now, but...Take it as a call to a long lost friend asking how he/she is doing and telling the world that I'm still alive.

Anyhow, it's already the second week of the two week break we had for the Raya celebration. Originally, I thought of staying back in Penang to work, to find some extra cash to fund my very costly expeditions next year, but, due to my brotherly duty of teaching my sister Maths for her upcoming STPM exam(with I barely did until today which is totally not my fault!), I went back home. Then, I was like wanting to go back early to do the piles of works that keep on piling high but, well, having fun and meeting up with old and new friends seem to take over the desire to work. What to do, I'm a really lazy fella.

That's basically what I did for the last week, going out meeting with friends, having lunch and dinner with them, while stuffing myself with home cooked meals. Well, it's really stuffing as the portion back home is freaking crazy. It's like a feast for 5 to 6 people where the house only have like 3 adults and one child, all of which eat very little. So, I ended up swallowing to avoid wasting.

Karaoke session with that bunch of people is always fun, especially that entertainer friend of ours. Dinner at Michaelangelo's is really worth the value and it's not really expensive to begin with. Meeting up with Nava is really nice considering it's been more than two years, I think, since we last met. Need to hang out with him this week again this week before both of us heading back to our universities respectively. Then, getting to meet with new friends, Sarah and Pui Yun, well, it's nice, to say the least.

How comes holidays have to end so freaking fast???

The Last Week Before The Holidays...

The last week before the mid semester break is full of mid term tests and assignments that to be due this week. What a terrible way to spend the perfect weekend with the nice Merdeka break on Tuesday. If I were locking myself in the room studying and finishing assignments, which I should do and which I failed to do so. The weekend was spent cruising around Penang, with the exception of Sunday itself as there was a test on Monday morning.

To make things a bit clearer, this week before the holidays, on Monday, which already a past tense, I had a test in the morning and an assignment due later in the afternoon. Wednesday, another test and an assignment due. Come Friday, two more assignments. And before that weekend arrived, I had touched almost none of it, with the exception of the Monday-due assignment. Clear???

Now, Monday had came and gone, with the Merdeka holiday fully secured in the afternoon. Most likely, I'm gonna snored till around 11am like that what with the time I'm going to sleep later. Oh yea, I just came back from an outing which lasted for almost almost 8 hours. More information will be spilled later.

It will be busy days ahead what with all the writings needed to be done and readings needed to be finished. Well, there's always a price to be paid for all the enjoyment in life and I'm willing to carry the burden for I really do have fun these few days. Glad that I went for it.

Ooo ya, Selamat Menyambut Hari Kemerdekaan Ke-53 or Happy 53th Independence Day!!!

Planning (Need Money!)

Now that both my air flight tickets already secured, it's time to save up money and also find some part time works to generate some income. And it's also mean I need to resist the urge to buy stuffs that I want or that I like. Spending money is always easier than earning it.

Planning for the trip...Cambodia is approaching, in a year time. But it doesn't mean I can't plan where I want to go and what I want to do. This coming holidays I'm going to use it to plan for the trip, where to stay, check the budget, do the route planning, and so on. My target is to use less than RM1000 for the whole Cambodia trip. Hopefully, with good planning, will not be hard.

Next up, Macau. Which is so much longer than the Cambodia trip. Therefore, more time to plan for it. A must do in Macau is to bungee jumping. Again, hopefully, I save up enough so that I can spend without concerning too much about budget. At most, RM3000 hopefully?

After all these trips, I can declare myself bankrupt. And I still got more plans I want to execute after my last semester. But that would require financial support already. More on that later when details are more transparent.

And I have tonnes to buy also. Need money...Jobs, where are you???

Graduation Trip to Cambodia!!!

While the excitements from going to Macau July next year is still in the air (for me, at least), another trip has been planned and air flights booked. This time, it's Cambodia! The whole thing is full of ups and downs, with less than one day of planning and off we go to execute the idea. I already predicted that AirAsia would not be possible to accommodate the huge numbers of us with its RM1 promotion but it is still affordable and cheap.

The booking process is very exhilarating, rushing to get those promotion seats. Luckily, almost everyone managed to secure a seat. It's like a potpourri of emotions. You'll get high, low, excited, disappointment, joy, frustration, happiness, anger, all at one go. I learned my lesson.

Anyhow, with air flights' done, now, it's time to plan the schedule. Can't wait to actually step my feet on their soils. I need to start saving already.

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

Thank You, AirAsia!

Thanks to the people of AirAsia, I get to travel to Macau at such a low cost. AirAsia is having a mind-blowing promotion where fares are as low as RM1 only. Where can you get it at such prices anymore???

Since the air flights already settled, I'll be heading off to Macau July next year. I know, I know, it's still like almost a year away but the excitement is very elevated. Give me few more days and I'll be back to normal.

Ruins of St. Pauls
Macau without gambling??? Where can???

And, of course, BUNGEE JUMPING!!!!! Tonight I'm gonna sleep with a grin on my face!

BBQ Gathering

For the first time after 2+ years of being coursemates, we finally had our first truly gathering, with all minus 2 managed to spare some of their extremely busy time to make this event a success. A great gratitude must goes to our M&E boss for joining us and also bought us Ferrero chocolates. ¡Muchos gracias! Another thanks must go to the Peking lady for the humor she brought to the whole house. You really worth RM120.

There is nothing special about the whole BBQ thing but it is nonetheless, a special thing, I hope, to all of us. I mean, how often do we all come out and hang out, releasing all our stresses and troubles, simply enjoying ourselves? Simply close to zero. Well, just one more year left for us all to go gila and we must treasure whatever time left to hang out.

From the whole shopping spree to the BBQ itself and to my experimental popcorn success, there's just too many sweet memories being captured and stored inside my mind. Even if I forgot who you are after 10 years (sorry to say so but my memory very char in term of names and faces...), I'll still remember this BBQ for as long as I live.

When we arrived 1st...

Then, all had reached the destination...

明年今天。。。

It was convocation time throughout this week - and still is. All our seniors were working so hard throughout their 3 academic years, and after the truly final exams, anxiously waiting for this moment, to wear those hideous purple gowns matched with those square caps, parading in front of thousands of gleaming eyes and million dollars smiles of their parents, receiving those certificates that certified you had indeed been an USM student.

Mathematics & Economic seniors...

Everyone was looking so handsome and pretty, with big wide smiles pasted all over their faces. It was like all their joys and happiness were seeped into my soul, making me simply just so happy for them. And in just one year, it will be my turn, our turns, the 08/09's turns. And one year is nothing but just a statement for when time flies, it truly flies without waiting for anyone.

An incomplete family shot, so to say...

I still remembered the first time I put my feet on the USM soil. Never had I imagined back then that I would be leaving this place in just one more year. So many sweet memories I had in this place. Wonders what installs for me after this phase??? Getting nostalgic when it was not me who is graduating...

Caps throwing ceremony...

So, after two year plus of being here in USM, what did I learn? Let me share with you some of the tidbits I learned...

  1. Time passes by so slowly when you are at Normee's reading session...
  2. However zillions languages you speak, you cannot understand Amir's lectures...
  3. Adam and Z. Ali is the couple from Borevilles...
  4. Whatever Michael taught, it won't appear in the final...
  5. If you understands Fatah, you are sure 发财...

Penang PC Fair 2010

These last 3 days, I was working for P1Wimax at the Penang PC Fair 2010. Quite a fun and unique experience for me. Here’s a brief gist on the 3 days of my work.

My uniform and tag

30/07/2010
Horrible way to begin my work. I failed to do any sale on that day, mainly due to my slight language problem. I don’t know which language to use in so I stick to English and Malays most of the time. When I did use Mandarin and Hokkien, maybe due to my first day work, it felt and sounded bad. Haha…I was the only one with zero sale in my team.

31/07/2010
Determined to fight today, I managed to score 6 sales, the highest in my team and was one of the top 3 top sellers. I believed it’s number two. Out of the 6 sales, one 1 I think is Chinese and it was my manager who helped me finish the deal. The rest were Malays. Somehow, language no longer a barrier and I used whichever languages needed for me to use. Definitely a great moment from zero to, well, not hero la but at least an almost one. Hehe…

My rewards for being one of the top sellers...

01/08/2010
I still needed 3 more sales to hit the required targets and 3 I ended up with. By the time I already scored the last sale, I slacked off and produced a half-hearted job already. Haha…No longer have to work so hard already since I already done my part. But I still helped out here and there, helping people to settle their required targets. By the time the whole fair was almost over, the whole telco area was in a mess and filled with screams and shouts and cheers, trying to score some last minute sales.

Throughout the three days, at least all my food were covered, so, I barely spent a dime. It was surely fun and all, but the most dreadful thing would be the visit to the toilet. It was just next to the P1Wimax booth but when you enter the toilet, it’s like trespassing the hell gate. The room was filled with billowing fumes emitted from the cancerous sticks, making the release unbearable. If I were to have more toilet breaks, for sure I’ll be diagnosed with cancer.

Like I said, it is sure fun being able to hit the targets but it will not be so if I failed to do so. All the money earned and the rewards from the second day surely brought smiles on my face. Now, anyone wants to buy the Wiggy from me???

Here's the P1Wimax modem I'm selling...

Please leave a comment here if you want to buy it. I'm selling it off at just RM200. The modem itself is worth RM199 and it's preloaded with RM100 of 1 month of surfing the Net. I have only one modem, so, first come first serve. Here's the link to eBay listing.

Modern Family - The Best New Comedy In Town

If you have yet to watch the fantastic TV series which I think air in Astro (what channel I'm not sure), go download it and watch (for those Astro-less). Nominated for The Outstanding Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmy this year, it goes against Glee, 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Nurse Jackie, and The Office. For me, it's either Glee or Modern Family.

It's Been A While Since I Had Such Fun!!!

Well, the title pretty much said it all. I have so much fun today singing my throat out, letting loose and be wild for a while. Thanks to the two friends of mine for giving me such a wonderful time! And I know I had gave them a great time too, letting them see my idiotic side. Please let it slip off your mind...

We went to Neway Karaoke at Queensbay after deciding not going for movie. Or more like just opt for karaoke since not many interesting shows are in the cinema. And the only interesting was Inception which I already watched and reviewed.

Such a letting go experience singing karaoke can be. You totally forget all whatever that has been bothering you. A blast filled almost five hours of fun!!! Let's do more of it!!!

Sooner or later, we will be packed with our final projects and mid terms and finals and all. It will be hard to pull out some time to actually hang out and have fun. So, truly treasure the fun I had today.

Inception

Wow. This movie is simply brilliant. Mind blowing. I mean, that scene where Joseph Gordon-Levitt defying gravity is just worth every single penny spent for the movie. A definitely must watch movie of the summer.

Great flick it is...

It's true that you SHOULD NOT read any reviews or information about the movie for the less you know about the movie, the better. You will be more amazed by it. I basically knew some few information on what it is all about before entering the cinema and well, I did not really regret knowing those teeny weeny bit of details or I might get a little bit lost. Or not.

Anyhow, from the start till the end, the whole movie is nothing short of surprising. Definitely an Oscars contender in Best Picture and Best Director, in my point of view. For those who still had yet to watch it, erm, watcha waiting for??? A rewatch is also highly recommended.

16/07/10

That day was my baby sister's birthday! Well, she's no longer a baby but still a cute little Standard One student. So, even just back to uni for a week, I went back home just to celebrate with her. After all, when I went out to work, how many more chances left for it? Mostly, I'll be too busy or too lazy to go back.

A quick little snapshot of her in uniform...

Nothing big, the celebration. Just a small family dinner. And a customary birthday cake. That's pretty much sum it up.

Of Eclipse and Triple Tap

Yesterday, I went out with my friends to celebrate her birthday, or rather, her belated birthday. Just wanna find an excuse to go out and have fun, that's all. So, we went to watch Eclipse since the movie selections are rather limited. Predators and that Thai horror flick are not OK with them while that Hong Kong show won't do since they don't really watch Hong Kong flick. Hence, just Eclipse, which we all dreaded to go anyway.

OK, for those living in the cave or something that have no idea what the heck is Eclipse, it's the vampire-human romance which dragged on for four books and then reappeared again in the form of movies. Keep on dragging the whole drama about Team Edward or Team Jacob (Edward is the vampire, Jacob the werewolf, and both also fall for the same girl, Bella, who has no idea who to choose, or rather, confused if she chose correctly) for the first two movies.

The cold one or the hot one?

If you are thinking great actions and blood and gore since it's vampires and werewolves, well, in the Twilight world (name of the saga), their vampires are more like sissy and werewolves are like Native American shapeshifters. Vampires sparkled when exposed to sunlight rather than burst to flame, so, when they died, it's more like broken glasses than a dried out corpses. In fact, when something hit the vampires, the sound of shattered glass was played. True Blood and The Vampire Diaries it is not.

But the essence of the whole thing is the romance of Bella and Edward. Their romances just keeps spinning around and around, totally cringe-worthy. Even my friend, who is into all I-love-you-do-you-love-me type of movies can't even stand it. Undeniably, a much improvement from the last movie, but not that much improved actually.

After the movie, we went to Sakae for dinner. I had a Teriyaki Chicken Ramen but I find it nothing special. Then, back we went to uni. But I had another movie to go, with another bunch of friends. This time, we went to that Hong Kong movie, Triple Tap. It's about two professional competition shooters, one a financial consultant of sort, the other an inspector, who crossed path in an armed robbery and how things unfold. A very entertaining movie about the choices we made and how it will effect us. A good thriller from start to finish.

The better movie of the two

After that, it's time to say goodnight.

Search Malaysia Properties

Well, if you are looking for property to buy around Malaysia and have no idea where to start, type in http://www.propwall.my/ into your Internet browser and off you go. The largest Malaysia's free property resources website available right now, it is definitely the place to go if you are hunting for a place to stay or buy.

The website is simple to use and navigate, with many functions made available to its users. Its design is clean and nice and this will not confuse first time users. They have two lists on their sites, Top Properties and Most Wanted Properties, giving users a rough idea what is hot property in the market right now. There are a lot of photos accompanied with the classified ads and the properties itself to let the users a glimpse of it but somehow I got the feeling that the pictures posted there and the actual property itself will be a lot different.

Other than that, you can sign up as a member of the website for free which has few benefits in store for you. One of it is that if you are a property agent, you can post your properties here either for sale or rent. This website is actually will be a big hit in the cyberspace later, I have a feeling.

Even if you are not a property agent, there are things in store for you too. You can post the property of your dream if you are looking for one. You can post questions on the website regarding property issues and its members will help to answer it. I found out that apparently, Michelle Yeoh owned a unit at Millennium Tower here in Gurney Drive. There is even a map section where it shows all the hot properties in Malaysia.

Granted, most of the properties are either located in KL or Selangor with the third place goes to Penang and a lot of the properties are rather pricy. But this should not deter you from the website as it is really informative. And, after all, there is nothing wrong to look at nice apartments that you cannot afford. Definitely worth being the member.

*If you are wondering what this is, well, it is a website review I'm doing for a job. I'm really broke!*

Back In USM!!!

I'm back, Internet people!!!

After absence for so long, mostly due to stupid desktop, now, being back here in uni, I can online 24/7. The joy of it after such unwanted break.

Just a brief recap of my holiday which basically can be summed up with just four letters - ESSM - which stands for Eat, Sleep, Shit, Movies. Fairly accurate.

And last Monday and Tuesday, I got a part time job as a promoter for Castrol, asking surveys from truck and lorry drivers under the hot sun. End up getting sun burn all over my hands.

The current state of both my hands

I guess it is true that money is hard to earn. That's about it for now. More updates later now Internet is within my reach.

Back From 'Hiatus'

Haha, almost a month I have left my blog unattended. Well, all this due to the stupid malfunction desktop of mine back home. The monitor was broken in a sense that it keeps blinking, making it unbearable to see anything. Therefore, I've been out of touch from the Internet world for so long.

At this moment, I'm at cyber cafe wasting time as I got nothing much to do while my mum was chatting away with relatives. Too much gossips, not interested.

Just one more week and I'll be back in USM for my final year. How time really flies. Guess then I'll be 24/7 facing my laptop onlining. Will be blogging as much as I can then. Till then, bye for now.

(Very comfy I am right now, with air-cond and sofa and smoke free...)

Expectation VS Reality

Expectation and reality is a whole different thing. What you expect may differ from what's really happening in real life. Here's what I had expected from this semester break and how I spent it in real life.

Expectation

Wake up around 7 something in the morning to go for a jog - Online for a while in the morning - Do some studies on FYPs or some light readings - Go to work - Come back after work - Sleep around 12 am

Reality

Wake up around 7 am only to fall back into sleep - Wake up again around 10 am - Watch TV - Want to online but stupid monitor on my desktop keeps blinking - Watch TV - Eat - Watch TV - Sleep around 12 am

Very unproductive the life I'm leading.

To Be John Nash Or Not To Be

Last night, I watched the Oscars-winning movie, A Beautiful Mind, a biopic of American mathematician, John Nash, starring Russell Crowe and Jennifer Connelly (winner of Best Supporting Actress for her role here). It focused on his life and how he struggled with paranoid schizophrenia, a mental illness.

For those who don't know who is John Nash, he is the Noble prize winner for his works in developing game theory. Game theory is a branch of applied mathematics that is widely used in the social sciences, economics, evolutionary biology, and so on. It even can be applied into our daily lives. In fact, game theory will be incorporated into my final year project.

The movie was rather entertaining as it showed how he came up with the theory, how his delusions ended up ruining his career, and how he overcame his mental illness and got back into the limelight. But, as movie tends to dramatise a lot, it's hard to know whether everything that's in the movie is true or not. So, I Wiki-ed it (whenever in doubt, go Wiki it) and it appeared that he really did suffer from schizophrenia.

One interesting fact is that the movie depicted him as a mathematical genius but with social disadvantages, as in he's not people-person. How true is it I do not know but a lot of geniuses are of such disabilities. I mean, the minds of the geniuses are too complicated that they sometimes find it hard to mix with ordinary peoples. Therefore, being genius is not really all shiny thing.

Take John Nash for example. He's amazing, being able to generate such theory with his mind but, if based solely on the movie, he's a socially awkward person. He doesn't understand the necessity of social conducts. And in his later life, he started to have delusions that he was part of a secret mission and that there's people out there trying to kill him. Being a genius is a hard thing.

If we were given a choice before we were born, would you choose to be born as a genius whose life works will win you all the prizes in the world and greatly influence the world but with a poor understanding of social conducts? Or who you rather be born as an ordinary person who does not have any impact on the world but can mingles with people? I would rather be just a normal person for being a genius comes with a lot of baggages. How about you?

The Power Of Love

I guess never to underestimate the power of love. My sister had not cook anything for her whole life but for her *ahem ahem*'s birthday, she went to prepare some homemade cookies for him as a birthday present. Actually, it's very easy to make but since it's a work of my sister for the first time, it deserved some sort of publicity.

I don't really know what it's called but I just named it chocolate-dipped cornflakes (for that's pretty much sum it up!). The ingredients are...

Baking chocolate bar
Cornflakes

That's all. Those are the main essential ingredients. Then, the few simple steps.

1) Melt the chocolate bar over hot water until it becomes a smooth texture.

2) Pour in the cornflakes into the melted chocolate and mix it evenly. How much of cornflakes should be added is up to your taste. If you want it to be more chocolate-y, put in less cornflakes and vice versa.

3) Scoop a teaspoon of it and put it into those biscuit paper cases or those muffin paper cups (I don't know what are those called) and put it into the fridge for cooling. Add some colors to it as decoration before cooling.

That's how it looks like...quite delicious...
This is the one for her *ahem ahem*
While the rest are ours...why do you think we help at all?

For a better taste, use a better baking chocolate bar like Hershey's or Van Housten's. We only use Tesco brand due to financial limitations. Even the cornflakes are Tesco brand. Haha.

A monumental moment of her doing things...

Short Course In Penang

So, I went back Penang last Sunday after barely reached home for more than 72 hours with my friend to attend a 2 days course on statistics and I got to drive to Penang without parental supervision for the first time! To be honest, we didn't really go there for the lesson but more for the certs for it'll bring more colours to our resumes in the future.

Nothing to talk about that course but suffice to say that the RM 100 spent were really for that cert and that cert alone. To do the course justice, it's interesting if I didn't already learnt about it. Of course, being me, going back Penang with a car, surely I won't stay put inside USM for the whole duration.

After the course was over, we went to Bukit Tambun for some seafood meals it's famous for. It's before the Juru toll so we drove there and after some surveyings, we settled for Floating Seafood Paradise Restaurant, one of the many restaurants along the road. Hmm...the dishes were not bad but I must say that the crab we ordered had an unbelieveable hard shells. That stupid shell on its pincers simply freaking hard to crack it open, banging on it for so many time. And the stick (and I really means STICK) they gave us to crack it, it seems like those sticks you used to play fetch with your dogs.

The already set sun leaving behind the colors...

Stupid pix of me trying to bite that shell off...

After that meal, we went to Station One for some songs and relaxation. Somehow, along the way, from the moment I stepped out of my room, I lost a key. Shitty thing to do.

Then, the following day, before we left, we woke up early in the morning to greet Mr Sun a very good morning. Then, we went for dim sum for breakfast before we went to do some business needed to be done. When all things were done, we went for Baskin Robbin for some delicious treat of ice cream. Those yummy, mouth-watering helado (that's ice cream in Spanish).

Mr Sun waking up...
A long way to go up...

Along the way heading back Ipoh, we dropped by at the ice kacang stall at Nibong Tebal for some cooling down since the weather was very hot and all. A very fun trip back Penang. Till later then, Penang.
That ABC...
